Go Cougars!

Last week Mini picked up a Sports Illustrated, turned to a picture of a baseball game, and said "Go Cougars!" She even had the arm motion to go with it. The football and basketball games have obviously been doing a good job of training her. I've heard BYU called "Breed 'Em Young" but in this case I guess it's more like "Brainwash 'Em Young." Other news: Adam made it home safely from Hong Kong yesterday. Hooray! It was our longest time apart: 10 days and 9 nights. It is so great to have him back. I got totally fatigued when we got back to our apartment, which surprised me because I wasn't the one who was 14 hours off schedule. While he was gone I think I went into stress mode to be able to take care of Mini and not worry about my own discomforts so much. Having him gone made me appreciate soldiers and their families who have extended amounts of time apart. What a huge sacrifice for our country--I don't know if I could do it. Mini and

our exciting weekend

I've been kind of a lazy blogger lately and feel slightly hypocritical about it. Over Christmas I told my sister Melba I wanted her to blog at least every week (mostly because I laugh so hard at her stories) and also set it as a goal for myself. I'll admit I cried at the airport at the prospect of him leaving me 7 months pregnant with a VERY energetic 2-yr old. We're staying with my parents though and they're taking good care of us. Mini LOVES hanging out with Grannie so fortunately she wants Grannie to brush her teeth, get her dressed, change her diapers, etc. Grannie is a good sport! The other exciting event was our Stake Co

So here are my not so exciting updates plus the latest debate at the Birk home. 1. I finished my high school scrapbook today, only 9 years after graduating! This has been a huge, looming goal of mine for a long time. I have saved everything and lugged it around for all these years. I finally decided if I didn't do it as a stay at home mom with one child, I would never do it, so I took the plunge! Now my goal is to digitally scrapbook each year for our family. 2. Marian and I both took three hour naps yesterday! I felt kind of sheepish but wonderful after! I worked Sunday so I guess I needed some catch up. 3. Adam heard an FBI attorney speak last week and now has been considering applying to the FBI. Originally I assumed he meant going in as an attorney with a behind-a-desk, not-exciting job. Well, he actually would go in as a Spec
