Oxi Clean and singing

I just need to put a plug out there for Oxi Clean. Three of my favorite shirts of Marian's got bad stains on them. I tried everything: washed them, treated them with Shout then washed them, treated them with Fuller pre-wash then washed them, and they still looked awful. So we soaked them overnight in Oxi Clean and--ta-da--good as new! My friend Marinda also did an Oxi Clean testimonial blog post but hers was more effective with the before and after pictures. I'll have to do that next time. Tonight is the ward campout and I'm going to let Marian roll in the dirt if she wants because I know Oxi Clean is there for me. What a relief to find something that really works! I also want to write about how much I love singing! Thursday nights are now the highlight (or one of them) of my week because I get to go to choir practice. It's so fun remembering all the things I had forgotten about singing and going around the house with choral songs in my head. I think it's easy as a

clarification

Just a quick note to say that the yearbook picture of Adam from a couple posts back is NOT his real high school picture. The program just plugs your face into ugly yearbook pictures. Yeah, he had his chubby days but never got to the Chris Farley look. Just so you know.

a good journal entry

I was getting ready this morning and, as usual, Marian was following me around, running in and out of the bathroom and slamming the door. So after she had closed the bathroom door (with her inside and me outside) another time, I went to open it and it wouldn't open. It's a stubborn door, so I started putting more weight into it and eventually was basically throwing my whole body against the door. Not even a budge. Now, here is where I need to make a confession. I never lock the bathroom door. In my house growing up, the lock on the upstairs bathroom door didn't work. It opened just as if it weren't locked even if you did lock it, so there was no use bothering. After living there most of my life I developed this horrible habit of not locking the bathroom door. So anyway, I honestly didn't even remember there being a lock on the bathroom door because I never look for one. But it was quite obvious that there was one since the door was belligerently not moving. At this

2 exciting things

Image
Well, yesterday I said there hadn't been anything exciting going on. Well, 2 exciting things have happened since I wrote that. First, our car turned 100,000 miles old! That may not sound exciting but to someone who is obsessed with numbers, it is exciting. I tried to get a picture on the camera phone but it didn't work out. I bought the car in 2004 with 36,000 miles on it. So it only took 4 years to drive 64,000 miles. Wow--I feel kind of extravagant. Anyway, exciting event #2 was discovering yearbookyourself.com. (Thanks Eric and Meg.) I had so much fun with this. Maybe I'll post more pictures from it later, but here is my favorite: Adam in 1998. Too bad we didn't have this one for Adam's post about his 200 lb days.

Just checking in

I really don't have anything super exciting to blog about, but just want to check in and say hello. I feel like I always wait for big events to do a new post so today I'm going to blog about the little, every day things going on. Adam: Started his second year of law school and is busy busy. Trying to figure out an internship for next summer. Just informed me over the phone that he thinks it's cool (or at least acceptable) to tuck his T-shirt into his pants. Marian: Totally obsessed with her "money." She loves to play with pennies, nickels and dimes. Usually the first thing she says in the morning, after letting me know her diaper is "eww-yuck", is "Money?" At this very moment she is throwing a tantrum because I won't get her more money (she loses them all the time). She goes around singing "money, money, money..." I think it's time to wean her, which will probably be harder than coming off the binky or the bottle! Me: Keep ge
