Proposition 8

By Adam: Today, I was once again reminded of the importance of Proposition 8. As I am sure many of you have noticed, The First Presidency is very concerned about this vote. The potential consequences of a failure to pass Proposition 8 would be very serious for both the Church and believers of marriage as between a man and a woman only. I want to voice my support for Proposition 8 and encourage supporters who are registered to vote in California to vote in the upcoming election. If you cannot vote in California you can support Proposition 8 by donating to the campaign. www.protectmarriage.com is website where you can donate. If anyone would like more information about the legalization of same-sex marriage, I have an excellent article that explains some of the problems associated doing so. Just let me know and I'll send it to you. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing"

babsitting whirlwind

Well, I disappeared for a while, but with good reason. We babysat my sisters' five kids (at their house in Salt Lake) for two weeks while she and her husband went to Israel. So yes, having six kids yanked me out of my peaceful one-child blogging world and threw me into a whirlwind of soccer, piano and ballet lessons, mountains of laundry, every 15 minute requests for snacks, helping with homework, playgroups, birthday parties, changing double the diapers plus helping Sam wipe, cooking for 8 instead of 3, reminding kids to practice and read, shopping with anywhere from 2-4 kids, and all this while trying to stay sane. My sister Lindsay is now my hero after seeing what her life is like every day! I guess it's good kids come one at a time, instead of 5 at time. There were definitely highlights and low-lights. First the negatives: 1) Marian and Lucy fighting all the time! What little stinkers!! (Lucy is 6 weeks younger than Marian.) I staggered their naps to minimize their awake ti

September pictures

Image
It has been a while since I posted any pictures, so here is our September in pictures. Marian has been quite into sunglasses lately. In this one she's at "Slotty's" house (thanks for all the babysitting Meg). Whenever Adam and I put on our sunglasses, she has to put on hers. BYU football games!! Go Cougs! Currently #7 or #8 (depending on which poll you like) in the nation! Eating breakfast with Elmo Adam was ready to leave to school one day with his backpack on and Marian was insistent on wearing her Winnie the Pooh backpack. They looked so cute I had to get a picture. We had fun at the ward campout. Neither the quantity nor quality of sleep was that great, but we still had a good time. As you can see in this picture, I finally got to use my T-shirt quilt for something! And Sunday we drove the Alpine Loop, which was gorgeous! (Sorry this picture isn't gorgeous.) I love living where we get four seasons and beautiful leaves that go along with fall.
