It's November!
Lots has happened since my last post. Liv and I did her 12th birthday overnight date at the Shangri La, which is super fancy! We stayed on the 20th floor, enjoying the view and also being on the same floor as the buffet restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast. (It's awesome being "China rich." The room plus buffet meals was about $130!) We enjoyed the buffet which was a good mix of Chinese and American food. I loved having a salad bar--good salads are hard to find here. Our room was beautiful and surprisingly one highlight was the toilet, which had a bidet with seemingly endless options. We couldn't resist so both gave it a try (separately of course ;) ). I think I could get used to it as it used heated water. If the water wasn't heated it would be kind of miserable. Anyway, we enjoyed the dinner buffet then went to Mix-C, an upscale mall near the hotel, for some birthday shopping. It was pricy even for America so we mostly just looked but Liv did get a coupl
